NextGen Concepts and Technology Development (CTD2)

This publication announces the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), Headquarters, Aeronautics Research Mission Directorate (ARMD) Fiscal Year (FY) 2014 version of the NASA Research Announcement (NRA) entitled, "Research Opportunities in Aeronautics (ROA)” has been posted on the NSPIRES site. Detailed requirements, including Proposal Due Dates will be stated in Appendices that address individual Thrust Areas. These appendices will be posted as Amendments to the ROA NRA and will be published as requirements materialize throughout the year. The initial release of this ROA 2014 NRA includes two solicitations (CTD1 and CTD2) in Appendix C.2 for foundational research on topics in support of the NextGen- Concepts and Technology Development Project. For both solicitations, NOIs are due January 24, 2014 and proposals are due February 28, 2014. This release includes the following two topics (under CTD2) applicable to the “NextGen – Concepts Technology Development Project” : (1) Methods to Identify and Classify Conflict Detection Resolutions from Historical Aircraft Track Data; (2) Oceanic Flights and Airspace: Improving Efficiency by Trajectory-based Operations.
