Description | The NextStar EV battery plant is a large-scale electric vehicle battery manufacturing facility in Windsor, Ontario. It is a joint venture between global automaker Stellantis and South Korean battery giant LG Energy Solution. The project is receiving up to $15 billion in incentives from the Ontario and federal governments, plus $1 billion in investments. The plant is nearly complete and aims to create roughly 2,500 Canadian jobs once operational. There have been concerns raised by Canadian construction and union leaders about the use of foreign workers for non-specialized tasks during the construction phase. |
