Description | Opportunity Niagara Health Systems submitted redevelopment plans to the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care for Stages 1A&B and Stage 2 in 2015 and 2016 respectively. The proposals—which are pending approval—call for Centres of Excellence in stroke, eye care, seniors’ wellness, complex care and academic education to be located in Niagara Falls. They additionally call for urgent care, dialysis, outpatient clinics, diagnostic imaging, ultrasound and radiology, and other lab services to be located in Welland. In May 2017 the Government of Ontario announced Niagara Health Systems would be receiving funding towards their redevelopment. This project was later identified as part of the social infrastructure P3 pipeline in Infrastructure Ontario’s 2019 Market Update. |
