Description
Description | This project consists of the removal of an aging cast iron watermain installed in 1896 that bisects the Niagara on the Lake Commons and a small portion of Fort George between Wellington Street and Ricardo Street. In total, 350 metres of deteriorating pipe will be replaced by 150 millimetre polyvinyl chloride watermain pipe. The new polyvinyl chloride pipe will improve the water pressure and volume for nearby residents and Fort George. It will also reduce the risk of a rupture or break within or near the Fort George property which would undoubtedly disrupt the operations of the Fort. |
