Niger - Development and Implementation of the National Action Plan for Integrated Water Resources Management (PANGIRE)

The project for the Development and Implementation of the National Action Plan for Integrated Water Resources Management (PANGIRE) of Niger is consistent with the African Water Vision 2025, including managing water resources, meeting urgent needs and strengthening basic investments. The PANGIRE preparation and implementation aim to strengthen the water resources management framework across Niger. The purpose of this intervention is to support the Nigerian Government in its reform implementation, which established the GIRE approach as the basis for public sanitation in the water and sanitation sector. The proposed intervention, within the framework of this project, is divided into two components: improving the planning and management framework of water resources through the GIRE Action Plan which will be supported by the Priority Investment Programme (PIP) in the medium and long term. The project is planned for 30 months.
