Description | The Health Care Improvement Project (Health Project II) is part of the national health policy. It aims at improving the health status of the population, in general, especially the most vulnerable and poorest groups in Tillabéri and Tahoua regions (3 600 000 inhabitants). The health problems of about 720,000 women of childbearing age, 360 000 children below five (5) years of age and 540,000 adolescents should be handled. The project focus on the development of primary health care and the promotion of community participation, control of diseases including HIV/AIDS, and the strengthening of the maintenance system. Furthermore, it should contribute to improving health coverage through the construction of 14 IHCs type I, two (2) IHCs type II and two (2) DHs and the rehabilitation/extension of two (2) DHs, and one IHC type II. The project consists of five components, namely: (i) improvement of health coverage; (ii) promotion of reproductive health, (iii) control of diseases and STI/HIV/AIDS; (iv) strengthening of the maintenance system; and (v) project management. |
