Description

The Programme for Inclusive Growth and Strengthening of Food Security (PACIRSA) is a general budget support programme with a total cost of UA 21.56 million. The programme supports the Nigerian government's efforts to improve the efficiency of public finance management and to strengthen the country's resilience to recurrent food crises. PACIRSA aims to help create the conditions for strong, stable growth and to strengthen the country's resilience to food crises, in order to reduce poverty. The overall results expected at the end of the programme's implementation are: (i) improved mobilisation of internal resources; (ii) greater transparency and efficiency in the expenditure chain; (iii) internalisation of the WAEMU Directives on public finance management; (iv) strengthened governance of the agropastoral sector; and (v) improved competitiveness of the agropastoral sectors. It is divided into two components: (i) component A: "Optimising budget policy and management" and (ii) component B: "Strengthening the country's resilience to food crises".
