The development objectives of the Reform Management and Technical Assistance Project for Niger are to improve: (i) the credibility and reliability of budgets allocated to budget managers in each ministry; and (ii) the internal controls of the use of said budgets. There are three components to the project. The first component of the project is capacity development. This component involves training and technical assistance activities for improving personnel's technical and managerial capacities in the areas of macroeconomic management, budget preparation, execution, monitoring, and cash management. The second component of the project is leverage and rationalizes financial management information systems. This component exclusively dedicated to financial management information systems, networking, and related individual information technology (IT) training activities. The third component of the project is support to the project coordination unit. This component focused on project support and management under a project coordination unit (PCU) anchored inside the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF).
