Description
Description | The Community Based Poverty Reduction Project (CPRP) is designed to contribute to the reduction of poverty in Nigeria. It’s expected to help promote sustainable livelihoods in Nigeria by building the capacity of the National Planning Commission (NPC), states, local governments and communities and funding demand-driven sub-projects at the level of twelve of Nigeria's poorest states to increase access to social services for the poor, using a fully participatory approach, including areas of primary education, health, agriculture, drinking water, feeder roads, etc. The CPRP should also work to reduce poverty at the national level and accelerate HIV / AIDS and malaria prevention activities, as well as raise awareness of the causal link between these diseases and poverty. The project also plans to build feeder roads, culverts and small bridges using labor-intensive methods. The CPRP has two main components, namely: (i) support to the national planning commission and (ii) support to social fund agencies at the state level. |
