Description | The Lekki Toll Road Project involves the development and widening of the existing 49.5km Lekki-Epe expressway and the installations of toll plazas. The Lekki-Epe expressway is the main link between Victoria Island in Lagos and Lekki peninsula. The project's total cost is estimated at about 44.91 billion Nigerian Naira (NGN). Its implementation will be conducted in two phases. In the first phase, Lekki Concession Company Ltd (LCC), which is responsible for the execution of the project, will carry out the civil engineering works for the construction of a new access ramp to direct traffic to Falomo bridge, new interchanges, footbridges, pedestrian crossings, bus stops along the expressway, and the construction of a 6 km section of the 20 km long new coastal road. It will also build ten linkages between the expressway and the coastal road, in addition to constructing three toll stations. The second phase of the project implementation will focus on the construction of the remaining 14 km stretch of the coastal road. The completion of the toll road construction should reduce road delays while improving road safety and safety, and reduce the cost of operating vehicles for road users, create jobs and provide a well maintained transport infrastructure. |
