Description | The African Atlantic Gas Pipeline is a $25 billion transcontinental gas pipeline project spanning approximately 6,900 kilometres across offshore and onshore routes. It is designed to transport up to 30 billion cubic metres of gas annually, serving Morocco's domestic needs and exports to Europe. The project involves 13 West African countries and aims to boost electricity generation, support industrialisation, and deepen economic integration in the region. A dedicated project company will be established as a joint venture between Morocco's hydrocarbons agency and the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd) to oversee financing, construction, and delivery. The project will be executed in phases to enable early economic returns. |
