Nigigoonsiminikaaning Waste Water System

The project will replace failing individual peat moss septic systems with a centralized mechanical wastewater treatment plant in the Nigigoonsiminikaaning First Nation in Ontario. The scope of work will be finalized following completion of the design but is expected to involve the construction of a communal sewer system using low pressure membrane bioreactor technology coupled with effluent or grinder pumps. The project will address longstanding wastewater management issues and associated health and safety concerns, and increase treatment capacity to enable future demand to be met.
