This proposal outlines the project design for the EU Youth Dialogue process for 2024-2027 of the National Working Group of the Netherlands (coordinated by the Dutch National Youth Council). The aim of the proposal is to describe the objectives and specific tasks for the two cycles that will be part of this three year period: the 11th and the 12th cycle of the EU Youth Dialogue process. Within the EUYD process, young people have the opportunity to engage in dialogues with decision-makers and policymakers, researchers and experts. Especially young people with fewer opportunities and unorganized youth are encouraged to participate. Through the European Youth Dialogue, we envision to bring about positive and constructive change in youth policy on various levels (local, national, European) and to strengthen young people’s engagement, empowerment and connectedness for a sustainable and inclusive Europe. The central approach we employ for the EU Youth Dialogue process is built upon knowledge, lessons learned and various best practices from the previous structured dialogue and EU Youth dialogue processes and the extensive experience of the NJR, for example our special target group approach and our bottom-up strategy. Through the process of consulting youngsters, sparking dialogue between young people and key decisionmakers/policymakers and by disseminating the results hereof, we prepare for the various EU Youth Conferences that form part of the EU Youth Dialogue process as well. We believe in this way, young people (in the Netherlands as well as in Europe) are stimulated/encouraged to be engaged, connected and empowered in their participation in democracy and society on all levels (local, national, European).
