Description

Description

"This project, ""No going back: Protecting rights and promoting social dialogue in aviation through times of crisis"", aims to learn from the lessons of the COVID-19 crisis and promote extended social dialogue and the better of working conditions in the aviation sector. Historically, conditions of employment in the sector have reduced in post-crisis periods (e.g. 9/11 or the 2008 Financial Crisis). But during this crisis, the level of engagement between social partners has been extremely high and has helped us protect the levels and standards of employment as best as possible. Despite this, a number of major concerns remain, particularly at the 'shop floor' level, and this project aims to strengthen ETF affiliates in their own local and national contexts to respond to change processes and crisis in the future. By learning the lessons of the COVID-19 crisis, we hope that the industry, workers and their respective representative organisations can respond to the next challenges on the horizon for aviation, that of a digital and green Europe. We recognise that the face of the aviation industry is changing, and we are hopeful that work will remain in the sector, it will certainly be different from what we know of it today. Therefore, workers organisations need to be in a strong position to support their members through this change but implementing change processes, engaging in social dialogue and actively participating in the just transition. Only through a high level of engagement at local and national level can we ensure a just transition and the necessary training for workers to adapt to a new green and digital Europe. To do this, this project will have 5 main objectives: 1. Strengthening the capacity of workers organisations 2. Protecting decent work 3. Developing practical solutions 4. Promoting social dialogue 5. Identifying best practice Each of these 5 objectives will be combined to deliver the best possible guidance and training to workers organisations."
