Information Metro Railway, Kolkata has come up with Noapara-Barasat via Bimanbandar - Construction of Metro railway [18 km] with a ticket size of 4829.6 INR Crores. This project in Railway Track sub-sector involves The current status of the project is Notice to Proceed and is being developed through the EPC route. Economic/Social Impact of the Project Extension from Noapara to Barasat [18 km] was sanctioned in the year 2010-11. Initial sanctioned cost-2397.11 Cr [Full length in Viaduct]. AAI did not agree for Viaduct alignment in Airport area, so vertical alignment revised to Underground in Airport land . MM-II [Phase-1] sanctioned by Board for underground construction from ch.5.219 to Ch 6.873 on 03/07/2015 at an additional cost of 761.87 cr. Later MM-II [Phase-2] sanctioned for Underground construction from Airport to New Barrackpore [3.544 Km] at an additional cost of 1622.15 cr. Final revised cost with above two MMs-4829.57 cr.
