Description

Noida International Airport, located in Jewar, Greater Noida, is set to be inaugurated on March 28, 2026. It is India's largest airport project with a 3.9 km runway designed to handle 12 million passengers annually in its first phase. The airport features solar power, waterlogging resistance, 10 fully operational jet bridges, 3 temporary aerobridges, and advanced ATRS baggage screening machines. The first phase spans 1,327 hectares with plans to expand to around 5,000 hectares, including a Multi-Modal Cargo Hub handling up to 2.5 lakh tonnes of freight annually. The airport is expected to eventually have six runways and handle up to 225 million passengers annually. Construction of the first phase is complete, and domestic passenger flights and cargo operations are expected to begin immediately after inauguration. The airport will also be connected regionally through the Ghaziabad–Jewar Regional Rapid Transit System, expected to be partially operational by 2027.
