Noida International Airport Phase-1

The Phase-1 of Noida International Airport at Jewar has been inaugurated. It is planned as a multi-modal transport hub with connectivity across road, rail, Metro, and regional transport systems. The airport features a multi-modal cargo hub designed to handle over 2.5 lakh metric tonnes of cargo annually, expandable to 18 lakh metric tonnes. The project is developed on a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model. The airport spans over 3000 acres with a 4-km-long runway, capable of international air travel. Initial passenger handling capacity is 12 million passengers per annum, scalable to 70 million. Domestic operations are expected to begin by late April, with flights connecting to 12 major cities during this phase, expanding to 47 in the future.
