The Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) rejected security clearance for the foreign CEO citing a 2011 rule requiring the CEO of new airports to be an Indian national. The project had an investment of approximately ₹7,200 Crore in phase 1 but is currently stalled with no revenue generation and ongoing expenses causing financial pressure. |
