Description

Description

The gap between the existing southern end of the Woodstock segment at Hwy 92 and the existing northern end of the Cobb County segment is approximately 4 miles. The City of Woodstock and Cherokee County have identified the connection south to Noonday Park as a critical connection to link these two trails and provide a network of over 10 miles of multi-use trail, which ties into a much larger system. This scoping project is to study the approximately 2 mile segment from Hwy 92 in Woodstock to Shallowford Road/Noonday Park in Cobb County. It will help to learn what alternatives it has to the route given the physical constraints that exist along the corridor. The goal of this study is to provide pre-engineered documentation that can be used to obtain funding and the necessary property easements and/or acquisitions to finalize design engineering for construction or be able to do a design-build project for this segment.
