Description
Description | Danish shipping company Norden is conducting a pilot project with Microsoft to reduce maritime supply chain emissions using Norden's biofuel voyage and Book and Claim solution. The project involves using certified waste-based biofuel over several voyages, achieving an 80-90% life cycle emissions reduction compared to traditional fossil fuels. Emissions reductions are transferred to Microsoft, aiming to reduce its maritime Scope 3 emissions by nearly 10,000 tonnes of CO2e over three years. Norden and Microsoft will also work with the Roundtable on Sustainable Biomaterials to update the book and claim system for sustainable maritime fuel claims. |
