North East Industrial Park Active Transportation and Transit Shelters

• The project consists of the installation of new active transportation facilities interconnected to new and rehabilitated bus stop areas and shelters for the four main arterial roads traversing through the North East Industrial Park of the City of Belleville. Currently, there are very limited active transportation services available to allow access to existing transit infrastructure. This commercial area has a high demand for transit services and active transportation and additional transit shelters and stops will help meet transit needs. • Specifically, the project includes the construction of 3 km of new concrete sidewalk, the construction of 1 km of paved multi-use trail and the addition of 17 new bus stops and 8 new transit shelters. All outcomes will be compliant with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act. • The project will improve the capacity of the public transit system, improve the quality and safety of existing and future transit system as well as improve access to the public transit system in the City of Belleville.
