Description | Information Sterlite Power has come up with North Eastern Region Expansion Scheme-XXV, PART-A with a ticket size of 2004.02 INR Crores. This project in Electricity Transmission sub-sector involves The current status of the project is Work Start - Appointed Date and is being developed through the PPP route. Economic/Social Impact of the Project The government of India has designated North Eastern Region Expansion Transmission Ltd. [NERETL]. a special purpose vehicle of Resonia Limited, as the implementing agency for the North Eastern Region Expansion scheme [Part A]. The scheme aims to strengthen the inter state transmission system to improve power reliability in the north eastern region, particularly in assam, and to establish an alternate transmission corridor and substation linking the eastern region and the north eastern region. The project includes construction of 400 kV transmission lines and development of a 400 kV switching station at Bornagar in Bajali district, Assam, with future provisions for 765 kV and 220 kV systems. The objective of the project is to create an alternate eastern region to North Eastern Region Transmission corridor through Bornagar, thereby reducing dependence on the Bongaigaon substation. |
