Description

Description

The intent of the North Glenora Community League - Net Zero Energy Retrofit is to improve the energy efficiency of the Community Leagues buildings and retrofit them to net zero. This project will eliminate the carbon emissions of the Community League, act as a demonstration for energy retrofits for residents, improve community climate resilience by providing emergency shelter from extreme weather, and increase the accessibility of the League buildings. This will be achieved through an extensive building envelope upgrade, removal of natural gas, expansion of the existing solar system, and addition of accessibility and climate resilience features. The renovation will decrease the operational costs of our buildings, provide the Community League with enhanced ability to provide access to programming to our diverse residents - enhancing community connections. North Glenora’s residents are diverse with Indigenous community members, affordable housing, and many New Canadians.
