Description

Description

This trail project consists of the construction of approximately 1.52 miles of multiuse path. The first segment of the project begins at the parking lot for the existing North Oconee River Greenway and continues along the North Oconee River on the graded sanitary sewer easement until it reaches a destination overlook between the historic Easleys Mill site and the Oconee Hills Cemetery property. The second segment of the project begins at the proposed U.S. 78/S.R. 10 Park and Ride and proceeds inside GDOT Right-of-Way along the westbound S.R. 10 entrance ramp behind several existing homes. The trail then traverses the aforementioned UGA property while roughly paralleling the S.R. 10 Loop until it reaches a junction point at the North Oconee River. The path then continues to the south along the existing graded sanitary sewer easement, and ends at a destination overlook near the existing Athens-Clarke County water treatment facility.
