The Port of Coos Bay is advancing its North Spit development plans with over $11 million in additional funding to prepare the area for future cargo operations linked to the Coos Bay Rail Line. The project aims to improve infrastructure along the North Spit to facilitate cargo movement from the port to the rail line, working towards a total budget of $2.3 billion. The project involves three major components: terminal construction by North Point development with private funding, financing the rail line construction, and channel modification.
