Description

The Comision Reguladora de Energia (CRE) issued the first natural gas distribution for the North Tamauligas geographic zone to Tamauligas, S.A. de C. V., a joint venture of Bufete Industrial Construcciones (49%), Gaz de France International (GDF, 26%) and Mexigas(25%). Tamauligas has committed to supplying more than 36,000 users in the cities that comprise the geographic zone (Reynosa-Rio Bravo, Matamoros, and Valle Hermoso) and investing US$ 23.7 million in the distribution network by the fifth year of operation. The average tariff authorized by CRE is 0.954 dollars per Gigacalorie. The 30-year permit which is renewable every 15 years confers a 12 year exclusivity period over the construction of the network as well as the reception, conduction and delivery of natural has within North Tamaulipas. The sponsors paid US$ 5 million to acquire the existing assets that were property of Pemex. None None
