Description

The Northeast Supply Enhancement Pipeline (NESE) is a $1 billion project to transport natural gas from Pennsylvania to New York City via underwater pipes beneath Raritan Bay and New York Harbor. It expands Williams' Transco pipeline system across Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and New York, adding 400,000 dekatherms per day of capacity, enough to serve 2.3 million homes in New York. The New Jersey portion includes 3.4 miles of new 26-inch diameter pipeline in Old Bridge and Sayreville, 6.2 miles of 26-inch diameter pipeline offshore New Jersey, and a natural gas compressor station in Franklin Township. The project is expected to be in service by the fourth quarter of 2027.
