The Brookleigh project involves the transformation of a previously stalled strategic development site in Burgess Hill, West Sussex, into a large-scale sustainable community. Led by Homes England with multidisciplinary support from AECOM, the project is planned to deliver approximately 3,500 new homes alongside schools, community facilities, employment space, parks, and extensive transport infrastructure. The development follows an infrastructure-first approach, providing roads, utilities, green spaces, walking and cycling routes, and sustainable drainage systems early in the delivery process. Designed to create a connected and environmentally responsible place rather than simply a housing estate, Brookleigh integrates significant open space, biodiversity enhancements, and community amenities to support long-term social, economic, and environmental sustainability.
