Description

Description

The project will replace the Northern Rockies Fire Hall and Public Works structural foundation, which has recently been found to be in severely deteriorated condition. Extensive deterioration fo the building’s concrete pile and grade beam foundation structure was discovered in September 2020 during replacement of concrete apron pavement adjacent to the Fire Hall. The foundation condition puts the entire Fire Hall and Public Works Building at risk, as some areas of foundation were deemed to be no longer capable of supporting structural loads without bearing directly on the clay soil between the piles. If left unattended, this could lead to damage to the building structure and limit operations. The project works include: -excavation and backfill; -removal and disposal of existing materials; -temporary structural support; -helical piles and grade beams; -new interior foundations; -mechanical and electrical upgrades; and -all related works.
