NorthLink Central Section Western Australia Highway Project

Main Roads Western Australia has awarded a contract for the NorthLink central section to the Great Northern Connect (GNC) Joint Venture of Laing O’Rourke and BGC Contracting. The GNC team will design and construct more than 20km of highway and four interchanges, including 14 road bridges, three footbridges, and new cycling and pedestrian facilities. The NorthLink WA central section is the second package of a programme of works to upgrade the Tonkin Highway to freeway standards and extend the link north connecting with Great Northern Highway and Brand Highway at Muchea. The highway will provide the northern link into Perth for heavy freight traffic and create direct access for growing suburbs such as Ellenbrook.
