Description | Northumberland County Council (NCC) is committing an additional £2 million to support broadband top-up vouchers aimed at helping people in remote rural areas get gigabit speed internet connections installed. This top-up funding increases the value of government vouchers from up to £4,500 to potentially £7,000 per voucher, supporting the installation of gigabit-capable broadband services in areas with less than 1Gbps speeds. The funding comes from gainshare funds received from BT via the previous Superfast Broadband Programme. |
