Description

The Northwestern Bus Improvement Programme is a joint project between Auckland Transport and Waka Kotahi. Package 1 (Corridors) is made up of three worksites: Lincoln Road, Te Atatū Road and State Highway (SH) 16. Lincoln Road and Te Atatū Road scope of work includes the construction of bus stops and bus shelters to be built on existing motorway interchanges. SH16 works involves the removal of obstructions along the existing motorway shoulder to support bus shoulder running. Package 2 (Stations) is made up of two worksites: Westgate Station and Brigham Creek and Station Park & Ride. Westgate Station scope of works involves the construction of a hybrid offline and on-street station at Westgate (Gunton Drive), to create a bus interchange. Brigham Creek Station and Park & Ride scope of works involves the construction of an offline station at Brigham Creek Road, incorporating Park & Ride facilities, to improve bus connectivity further towards Kumeu. However, current CIP funding does not have provision for Westgate Station land and construction as well as Brigham Creek Station design, land and construction. NLTP funding has been approved.
