"""Nothing About Me, Without Me"" is a groundbreaking transnational initiative empowering young people with intellectual disabilities (ID) to become active citizens, storytellers, and advocates for their rights. Through digital storytelling and media production, this project ensures that youth with ID are not just included but leading conversations on democracy, inclusion, and European values. Despite EU commitments to accessibility and inclusion, young people with ID remain one of the most underrepresented groups in democratic participation. Barriers such as lack of accessible information, limited civic education, and exclusion from policymaking have left many without a voice in discussions that directly impact their future. This project directly addresses these challenges by providing a youth-led platform for self-expression, advocacy, and engagement with decision-makers. The initiative is structured around a six-episode documentary web series, co-created by young people from France, Croatia, Italy, Lithuania and Poland. Each episode will showcase personal stories, challenges, and aspirations of youth with ID, highlighting their role in European civic life. Participants will receive hands-on training in media production, storytelling, and advocacy, equipping them with lifelong skills to engage in democratic processes. By leveraging digital media, the project ensures broad outreach and accessibility, engaging youth organizations, educators, policymakers, and the wider public. It directly contributes to the EU Youth Strategy 2019-2027, reinforcing the ""Engage-Connect-Empower"" priorities while promoting transnational youth cooperation and grassroots advocacy."
