Description
Description | The Federal Energy Management Program (FEMP), on behalf of the DOE Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy, intends to issue a Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) initially titled ?Assisting Federal Facilities with Energy Conservation Technologies (AFFECT).? NO APPLICATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED THROUGH THIS NOTICE. The AFFECT FOA will provide direct funding to U.S. Federal agencies for the development of capital projects and other initiatives to increase the energy efficiency and renewable energy investments at agency facilities. It is anticipated that the FOA will include the following two (2) topic areas: Topic Area 1: Combined Heat and Power (CHP); and Topic Area 2: Renewable Energy, including solar, wind, biomass, landfill gas, ocean, geothermal, waste to energy, and new hydroelectric energy technologies. The purpose of this Notice is to encourage prospective applicants to begin formulating ideas, gathering data, and developing partnerships in anticipation of the issuance of the FOA. Prior to FOA issuance, FEMP is making technical assistance available upon request to Federal agencies to identify and analyze CHP or renewable energy opportunities and technologies. FEMP technical assistance related to the objectives of the AFFECT FOA will only be available to Federal agencies up until the release of the FOA, which is tentatively scheduled for release in the first quarter of fiscal year (FY) 2014. The full Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) is posted on the EERE eXCHANGE website at https://eere-exchange.energy.gov. Applications must be submitted through the EERE eXCHANGE website to be considered for award. The applicant must first register and create an account on the EERE eXCHANGE website. A User Guide for the EERE eXCHANGE can be found on the EERE website https://eere- exchange.energy.gov/Manuals.aspx after logging in to the system. Information on where to submit questions regarding the content of the announcement and where to submit questions regarding submission of applications is found in the full FOA posted on the EERE eXCHANGE website. |
