Description | The Notsi solar photovoltaic (PV) project is the largest single-phase solar development in South Africa, with a capacity of 475MW. Located in the Free State, it spans over 1,000 hectares and includes approximately 860,000 solar panels. The project involves extensive civil works, grid integration, and transmission infrastructure, including a dedicated substation to connect to the national grid. It is backed by Standard Bank and developed by Anthem, with engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) handled by a joint venture of China Energy Engineering Corporation and the Northwest Electric Power Design Institute. Completion is expected within roughly 26 months. |
