Nova Scotia and Federal Environmental Approval Co-operation Agreement

Nova Scotia and the federal government have signed a co-operation agreement to streamline the environmental approval process for major infrastructure and resource projects that require both federal and provincial approvals. This agreement, known as the one project, one review model, aims to remove duplication, shorten review times, and increase regulatory clarity for projects such as energy transmission lines, airports, marine terminals, ports, pipelines, and mining projects. The agreement is intended to support projects like Nova Scotia's Wind West project, which involves an onshore transmission line to deliver energy across Canada.
