Description
Description | With its new technology jay, transfermedia has recently launched a solution that opens urgently required business opportunities for the European audio-visual industry: from in-stream shopping to better user insights and increased audience reach to the multi-monetisation of media content. In an automated end-to-end workflow, jay captures and links metadata from a film’s production and makes the detailed dataset – including scene-based and time-code accurate information on the film’s cast, locations, props, costumes and more – directly available for distribution and monetisation. This enables broadcasters and platforms to offer their audience completely new interactive in-stream experiences, turning viewers into active users. This will not only increase engagement, but also provide distributors with more profound insights on user interests, enabling context-aware recommendations and personalised ad targeting. transfermedia will further extend the jay service by integrating AI models, which will allow media houses to also annotate their huge amount of already existing content. As part of this project, AI models will be tested and trained to recognise objects in audio-visual content, i.e. shoppable products, serving the in-stream shopping monetisation opportunity. An additional broad range of novel business models will be introduced into the European market within the project. This objective will be pursued by transfermedia in close cooperation with leading European partners from the AI sector as well as with broadcasters and platforms at the highest level of EBU and DPP. The project lays the sustainable groundwork for future media production and monetisation – and finally exploits the full potential of the distribution channel, which has almost completely shifted to: the digital sphere. |
