N’Quatqua - Health Centre Roof-Top Solar Photovoltaic and Battery Storage Retrofit

The project will retrofit the N’Quatqua Health Centre to include a rooftop solar photovoltaic (PV) system in combination with the battery system and components to deliver energy to the facility. The project will stimulate the economy by creating construction jobs, reduce reliance on diesel generation, create cost savings from solar PV production, create energy storage for emergency situations/frequent power outages. The N’Quatqua First Nation power supply provided via BC Hydro is not reliable during winter months due to long repair times associated with their remote location and high mountain roads. This disruption of service creates more reliance on backup diesel generators to meet power and heating needs in the community. The project works include: -structural upgrades for solar PV installation; -solar PV components; -batteries for electrical storage and components; and -all related works.
