Description | NRG Energy secured a $370 million loan from the Texas Energy Fund for a new 455-megawatt facility at the Greens Bayou Generating Station in northeast Houston. The project is expected to cost about $617 million and come online in 2028. This is the third and final project of NRG Energy to go through the Texas Energy Fund's review process, bringing NRG's total TEF funding to $1.15 billion for developing more than 1.63 gigawatts of new power capacity in the Houston area. |
