Description | In May 2007, the Mexican federal airport company, Aeropuertos y Servicios Auxiliares (ASA), awarded a 20 year greenfield contract to the consortium of Grupo Operadora de Puentes and Tecnología en Sistemas Ambientales to build and operate a new 39,000m2 cargo terminal at Nuevo Laredo Airport in the state of Tamaulipas. Under the terms of the contract, the terminal was to be built within eight months of the signing of the contract in May 2007. Total investment in the new terminal was estimated at 80 million pesos (US $7.3 million). As of February 2014, the government was requesting the cancellation of the concession contract, since the private sponsor failed to undertake the construction works. |
