The Financial Cooperation measure contributes to improving nutritional status in Cambodia through participation in the World Bank's Cambodia Nutrition Project. In addition to Germany, Australia, the Global Financing Facility for Women, Children and Adolescents (GFF) and the World Bank are co-financiers. The aim of the program is to contribute to improving the nutritional status of mothers and children and in particular to reduce chronic malnutrition. On the supply side (health care providers), the provision of nutrition-specific (health) services is promoted, integrated into the health services provided by public institutions. On the demand side, promotion and awareness-raising activities are supported in order to bring about behavioral changes. The target group of the nationwide program is primarily children under two years of age and mothers or women of reproductive age. Since malnutrition disproportionately affects poor and vulnerable groups, these population groups are explicitly supported. The project is based at national and subnational levels. The part aimed at communities and health facilities, which is initially regionally focused, is to be expanded geographically, depending on the available funding volume. The program sponsor is the Cambodian government, represented by the Ministry of Health.
