Description
Description | The project proposes adding a second leg to the existing St. George route on the NYC Ferry system, re-establishing a ferry connection between Staten Island and Brooklyn. The new route will cross New York City Harbor from Staten Island's North Shore to Bay Ridge, then continue to Brooklyn Bridge Park, and finally to Wall Street at Pier 11, connecting to the rest of the ferry system. The service aims to improve travel times, trip frequency, and reduce public subsidy per trip, with ferries running every 34 minutes during weekday peak times and summer weekends, and every 50 minutes during weekday off-peak hours. Rider feedback will be solicited before making the route permanent, with final changes expected to take effect in the upcoming winter. |
