Oak Flat Copper Mining Project

planned

A copper mining project involving the transfer of land at Oak Flat, Arizona, to Resolution Copper mining company. The project involves creating a mine that will destroy the sacred site of Oak Flat, which is considered sacred by the Apache and listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The project has faced legal challenges from an Indigenous coalition seeking to protect the site on religious liberty grounds.
