Description | Onondaga County plans to expand the Oak Orchard Wastewater Treatment Plant in Clay to accommodate Micron Technology and the projected business and residential growth. The upgrade includes a $549 million price tag for improvements to process sewage from the Onondaga County community, including Micron. Micron will also build and pay for a second industrial wastewater treatment plant. The current permit under review relates to the operations of the Oak Orchard WWTP, which Micron intends to use temporarily until the industrial WWTP is built. Concerns exist about the plant's capacity to properly dispose of PFAS discharged into the water. |
