Occupational Diseases Statistics

The general objective of this project is to improve the collection of data that is in line with the methodology proposed by EUROSTAT. Croatian Institute of Public Health is the main governmental body authorized to collect and send statistical reports on occupational diseases to EUROSTAT. Specific objectives will be improvement of existing methods of collecting data, strengthening of existing statistical capacities and quality of data, collection of currently not collected data and development of database infrastructure. The data that are currently not collected will be collected through newly developed communication channels with the Croatian Pension Insurance Institute. Development and improvement of database infrastructure are also needed since new data require broadening of the database capacity. This way, the grounds will be established for the collection of data that are in line with the methodology proposed by Eurostat and for upgrading the quality of reports to EODS Eurostat Working Group. Main deliverables will be the collection of currently not collected data, upgraded and more fit for purpose database as a main part of administrative data infrastructure, and ability to report to EUROSTAT in line with the proposed requirements.
