Odisha is undergoing a transformation from a minerals hub to a diversified industrial powerhouse with growth across 20 sectors including mining, metallurgy, chemicals, food processing, apparel, and textiles. Over the last year, 206 large projects were approved with a total investment of over Rs 4.5 lakh crore and employment potential of nearly 2.9 lakh jobs. Since the Utkarsh Odisha summit, 56 projects have been taken up for ground-breaking and inauguration with a combined investment of over Rs 1.78 lakh crore and employment potential for 1.1 lakh people. The government plans to focus on new policies, expanding land bank and industrial infrastructure, revamping the single window system, and deregulating rules to support industrial growth.
