Description | The Odisha Metro Rail Project is a proposed metro rail system envisioned as a critical mass transit backbone for the Bhubaneswar-Cuttack-Khurda-Puri corridor. The project was initially entirely state-funded but is currently facing scrapping by the Odisha government. BJD MP Sasmit Patra has written to the Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister seeking intervention to ensure the project's continuation through a 50:50 cost-sharing arrangement or equivalent support, in line with the National Urban Transport Policy and the Metro Rail Policy 2017. |
