Description
Description | The project contributes to the implementation of PCI 8.1: Offshore Wind Connection South Brittany (FR). It is a 225 kV HVAC connection in the French North Atlantic Sea Basin, connecting 750 MW of floating offshore wind to the onshore substation Pluvigner (225 kV) in the Brittany region (FR). The project aims to complete various technical studies and permitting for the HVAC cables, the offshore substation and the onshore substation. The project’s scope covers: • Basic engineering related to the offshore cable design and installation, including the qualification tests for the submarine cable system; • Detailed engineering related to the underground cable and installation, including the best routes and laying methods between the landfall area and the onshore substation; • Design of the offshore substation, including installation studies; • Design of the onshore substation, including layout and electrical system as well as a new kind of variable shunt reactors; • Environmental authorisation for the HVAC connection, including the offshore substation, the HVAC cables and the onshore substation. The project will be carried out by external resources. The project’s deliverables are as follow: • technical studies for HVAC submarine cable completed; • technical studies for HVAC underground cable completed; • technical studies for offshore substation completed; • technical studies for onshore substation completed; • environmental authorisation certificate for the HVAC connection issued by the competent authority. This project will permit: • to finalise the signature of all the EPCI contracts related to the HVAC connection, • to achieve all the technical studies related to the design and the installation of the cables (submarine and underground) and the substations (offshore and onshore), • to ensure the completion of all the additional demands from the administrative authorities regarding the environmental impact assessment report, in order to finalise the permitting activities related to the HVAC connection. Once all the project is complete and subject to the permits secured, the PCI will enter into the works phase. |
