Description
Description | This joint project is being undertaken by the Township of Enniskillen and the Village of Oil Springs. Upgrades/replacement to the piping, valves, pumps, Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system at the Oil City/Oil Springs Reservoir. The reservoir was built in 1993 and its primary equipment has reached the end of its useful life. The reservoir provides 365,000 gallons of water storage for emergency use within the Township of Enniskillen and Oil Springs water systems. The replacement of aging equipment will reduce the overall electrical consumption at the reservoir. A more current SCADA system will provide remote access and greater control by the local operators of the reservoir. The project will include: 1. the replacement of three 45 hp submersible pumps and variable speed drives with three 30 hp pumps and associated drives; 2. the replacement of the piping and valves to support the pumps; 3. the updating of the operating system (SCADA) for the control of the pumps and alarms; 4. the replacement of the backup stationary diesel generator with a stationary natural gas generator; 5. the replacement of the chlorine pumps. |
