Description | Approximately 100 gallons of used oil spilled at a Diversified Energy compressor station near the Eckman area of McDowell County due to a valve failure on a storage tank. The leak was stopped and contained by response crews, with additional downstream control measures deployed to protect the environment. Containment booms and recovery measures were installed in Coalbank Branch. No fish kill or public water system impacts were reported. Material collected within drainage control structures has been removed, and land remediation is ongoing to prevent further release into the watershed. |
